Mayor Hancock Announces Team to Lead Denver Performing Arts Complex Re-imagining Project

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DENVER, Oct. 22 -- The office of the Denver Mayor issued the following news release: Mayor Michael B. Hancock today appointed an Executive Leadership Team of arts, business and civic leaders to launch a robust community input process to help determine a comprehensive vision for the Denver Performing Arts Complex and Boettcher Concert Hall.

Denver Arts & Venues is leading the arts complex re-imagining project and will convene monthly meetings of the ELT, which is comprised of 29 individuals.

"This team will guide a thoughtful, measured study of options for the entire arts complex and its surrounding neighborhood," Mayor Hancock said. "I am thankful to all those who will serve the city on this team as we examine this exciting opportunity to re-imagine the arts complex and provide a useful, dynamic and accessible public cultural asset." The ELT will work with Arts & Venues in a structured planning process that will include meetings, data gathering, and input from various stakeholders, public- and private-sector leaders, patrons and the community. The team will provide recommended options to the Mayor's Office for Boettcher Concert Hall and the arts complex in mid-2015 and a final recommendation for an arts complex master plan by year-end 2015.

The city's Community Planning and Development department will support the work of the ELT with a coordinated process to determine how the arts complex will enhance the neighborhood, including the Colorado Convention Center and parts of downtown adjacent to the complex.

The team will meet once a month, beginning Nov. 13. A full schedule of meeting dates and times will be published on the Arts Complex Re-imagining Project page at ArtsandVenues.com once details have been finalized.
