NCKU: Microfilm Competition To Be Open to Chinese Learners in Taiwan


TAINAN, Taiwan --(Business Wire)--

The National Chinese Microfilm Competition, "Taiwan through my eyes" launched by Chinese Language Center (CLC) of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, is now accepting applications!

The competition is looking for entries featuring city and country life, art, traveling experience, gourmet food, humanity and culture in Taiwan, according to CLC.

All Chinese learners in Taiwan are invited to join the nation-wide competition.

Through this competition the CLC aims to increase the number of foreign students who are interested in studying Chinese.

"We also want Taiwanese people to see a different Taiwan through the eyes of foreigners," CLC director Rong-Fu Wu sad.



He also added, "Through these activities we can facilitate cross cultural interaction between Taiwanese people and people from other nations."

Students are tasked with making a video showing the journey of learning Chinese, experiencing the local life, the local people's hospitality and friendships, and exploring unique Taiwanese culture and art.


The competitors must be currently enrolled at a Chinese language center in Taiwan.

There are no limitations on the equipment competitors can use to film.

The prize money amounts to 60,000 NTD, with the prize for first place totaling 30,000 NTD.

The competition videos will be available online for an open vote on the winners. The most popular videos will be selected to win. For more details please visit http://kclc.ncku.edu.tw/microfilm

The submission deadline is until 23:59 November 24, 2014 (Monday). 12 nominees list will be published on December 4.

The awards ceremony will take place at 14:30, December 6, at Chong Hua Hall, NCKU.
