SABMiller Chief Adjusts Executive Committee Responsibilities

(Alliance News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LONDON (Alliance News) - SABMiller PLC Friday said that Chief Executive Alan Clark has made adjustments to the responsibilities of its executive committee, following the company's combination of South Africa and Africa into a single region earlier this year.

In a statement, SABMiller said that Chief Financial Officer Jamie Wilson will become responsible for investor relations alongside his other financial areas, while General Counsel John Davidson will take on regulatory affairs, communications and sustainable development, in addition to legal and company secretarial.

Davidson will become general counsel and corporate affairs director, and will relinquish his role as company secretary due to his additional responsibilities.

The changes mean the group's director of corporate affairs, Catherine May, will depart at the end of the month.

Domenic De Lorenzo, the group's director of corporate finance and development, will assume additional responsibility for strategy.

Stephen Shapiro, currently deputy company secretary and deputy general counsel, will be appointed as company secretary from November 1, retaining his deputy general counsel role.

SABMiller's CEO said the changes are due to his desire to focus key responsibilities in a smaller and more effective executive group.

"Combining legal, communications, regulatory affairs and sustainability into one integrated function under John Davidson, reporting directly to me, will serve our business better in a changing legal and regulatory environment," Clark said.

"Aligning our investor relations activities more closely with our finance team under Jamie Wilson's leadership is a logical development that will further enhance our engagement with financial stakeholders," he added.

SABMiller shares were Friday quoted down 0.6% at 3,346.00 pence.
