MedData Launches iPhone App to Improve Billing Reconciliation for Surgical Practices [Global Data Point]

(Global Data Point Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Using either their iPhone's touch screen or voice-recognition feature, surgeons can easily enter a patient's name and medical record number and mark whether they were admitted or discharged. Employing enhanced HIPAA-compliant security features, Patient Lists then automatically transmits registration list data directly to MedData's proprietary coding software, EDITS+.

"Many practices still employ a mix of paper, electronic health records (EHR), and other technology," said Sue Chilson, MedData's chief information and security officer. "This new app is designed to dramatically simplify the billing process - increasing revenue, allowing for easier and more accurate billing reconciliation, and enabling providers to get paid faster on every encounter." Patient Lists is available in the Apple iTunes App Store for Free in the United States.

Future releases will expand functionality across physician specialties and include the following features: • Barcode scanning to automatically create a patient record • Upload Face Sheets • Optimized for multiple devices, including the newly released iPhone 6, iPad, and iPod Touch • Expanded and improved security features (c) 2014 GlobalData Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
