Oman Competitiveness Forum to kick-off on Wednesday [Times of Oman]


(Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Muscat: The second edition of Oman Competitiveness Forum will kick-off on Wednesday. The two-day forum is organised by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development "Ithraa" at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel.



His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al-Said, Director of Marketing and Media at Ithraa said in a statement that the forum will be attended by 20 local and international representatives from public and private sectors, adding that the forum includes seminars that address four interactive themes with the participation of officials from the public and private sectors in order to meet the current and future needs of the community.

He explained that the first day will include two sessions titled "Choosing Policy Before Application "and "Change the Work Culture in the Private Sector," while the second day will include two sessions as the first one entitled "Public Services and Community Engagement "and " Government Employee in the 21st Century".


He pointed out that the forum, which will host a number of specialists from inside and outside the Sultanate, would review a number of successful international experiences in the field of innovation in government administration, stressing that the forum comes within the framework of improving the investment climate in the Sultanate and promotes the competitive advantages of the Omani economy in the coming period.

Azzan bin Qasim al-Busaidi, Director General of Research, Studies and e-Services at Ithraa stated Oman Competitiveness Forum represents the foundation where specialists get together to exchange experiences and views on how to enhance the competitive advantages of the Omani economy in line with the aspirations of the community and improves the climate of business in the Sultanate. He added that it also promotes coordination and cooperation among relevant institutions to directly promote the level of public sector efficiency and the ability of the Sultanate's economy to compete.
