United Kingdom,United States : BAE SYSTEMS to buy cybersecurity company SILVERSKY [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BAE Systems has inked a $232.5 million deal to buy a Connecticut cybersecurity company, SilverSky.

The acquisition is part of the UK-based contractor s strategy to boost its presence in the U.S. commercial cybersecurity market.

SilverSky, is a designer of cloud-based cybersecurity solutions for commercial clients.

Goldman Sachs and venture capital group Bessemer Venture Partners are among the investors of the company.



SilverSky's customers have included United Airlines and Farmers Insurance Group.

A BAE spokeswoman said, "SilverSky has an established salesforce and suite of products that will fit with" BAE Systems' cybersecurity arm, called BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.
