MedData Unveils New iPhone App [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MedData reported that the launch of Patient Lists, a new iPhone app designed to streamline the medical billing process for its surgical clients.

According to a release from the company, surgeons, using either their iPhone's touch screen or voice-recognition feature, can enter a patient's name and medical record number and mark whether they were admitted or discharged.

Employing enhanced HIPAA-compliant security features, Patient Lists then automatically transmits registration list data directly to MedData's proprietary coding software, EDITS+.

"Many practices still employ a mix of paper, electronic health records (EHR), and other technology," said Sue Chilson, MedData's chief information and security officer. "This new app is designed to dramatically simplify the billing process - increasing revenue, allowing for easier and more accurate billing reconciliation, and enabling providers to get paid faster on every encounter." MedData is a provider of a range of patient-focused medical revenue cycle management services.
