CHIME Presents Memorial Healthcare and Iatric Systems with 2014 Collaboration Award

BOXFORD, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

Iatric Systems, Inc., a comprehensive healthcare IT integration company, and its longtime customer Memorial Healthcare today received the 2014 College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Collaboration Award. The award, which recognizes a collaboration between a healthcare facility and technology vendor that uses healthcare IT to help the hospital solve a problem, was presented this morning to Iatric Systems and Memorial Healthcare during the CHIME14 CIO Fall Forum.

Memorial Healthcare, based in Owosso, Michigan, and Iatric Systems earned the award by partnering to help the 150-bed hospital ensure it remained on track in attesting to Stage 1 Meaningful Use. Through the collaboration, Iatric Systems developed Meaningful Use ManagerTM, which Memorial Healthcare used to aggregate data from multiple systems and to automate its tracking and reporting processes. As a result, Memorial Healthcare was able to attest to Meaningful Use Stage 1 on time. The hospital is also on track to use the tool to attest for Stage 2. The Meaningful Use Manager solution, now used in hundreds of hospitals, helped Memorial Healthcare eliminate time-consuming manual tracking processes, accelerating its Meaningful Use attestation.

"Meaningful Use is complex and confusing, and if you don't know your status for each objective, it gets exponentially more difficult. We needed a way to more effectively meet the requirements with technology and evolve our process to continually enhance care and clinical outcomes," said Frank Fear, Vice President of Ancillary Services/CIO at Memorial Healthcare. "Iatric Systems has been a huge part of our success. By bringing clarity to our Meaningful Use tracking and reporting, we were able to see where we needed to change process in order to meet Meaningful Use requirements on time. We are thrilled to accept this award with Iatric Systems."

For several year, Memorial Healthcare provided feedback and exchanged ideas with Iatric Systems, which used its integration and healthcare expertise to continually enhance Meaningful Use Manager. For example, capabilities were added so managers could drill down into a core measure's granular details. This played a key role in educating stakeholders, including physicians, managers and board members, about the importance of Meaningful Use and updating them on their progress in meeting requirements.

The partnership didn't end once Memorial Healthcare completed attestation. With data stored and easily accessible in Meaningful Use Manager, and expert consulting from Iatric Systems, Memorial Healthcare withstood the rigors of a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) audit.

"Memorial Healthcare is a great example of what an organization can accomplish when they combine healthcare IT knowledge with a deep clinical commitment. Frank Fear is very progressive and forward-thinking in his approach to technology and meeting government regulations. He took the bull by the horns and ensured everyone understood Meaningful Use so the hospital could meet the regulations and receive its incentive payments. We are thrilled to accept this award with a facility like Memorial Healthcare," said Frank Fortner, President of Iatric Systems. "Memorial Healthcare is a longtime customer, and that is one of the highest compliments we can receive. Iatric Systems is always looking for additional ways we can leverage our healthcare IT expertise to help our customers achieve new levels of success."
