SKULLY Demonstrates Connectivity Between the AR-1 Helmet and the Aprilia RSV4 Motorcycle at EICMA

MILAN --(Business Wire)--

SKULLY (www.skullysystems.com), in cooperation with Aprilia Motorcycles, today announced it will demonstrate groundbreaking wireless communication between motorcycle and rider at EICMA, the world's largest event dedicated to two wheels in Milan, Italy, November 6-9, 2014. The companies will be demonstrating telemetry transmitted wirelessly from the world champion Aprilia RSV4 motorcycle to the SKULLY AR-1 head up display helmet, giving riders insight into the mechanics of the motorcycles' performance including vehicle speed, engine speed, gear position as well as fuel consumption and more. The demonstration will be held in Hall 10, Stall G70.

"We are very excited to team up with Aprilia at EICMA. The RSV4 is the benchmark in the supersport bike category, while SKULLY has set the benchmark for the world's smartest and safest motorcycle helmets," said Marcus Weller, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of SKULLY. "Together, this demonstration will not only showcase the standalone features of the AR-1 including 360-degree situational awareness and GPS navigation, but will also provide a glimpse into the future as to how the AR-1 will ultimately interact with technologically-advanced motorcycles such as the RSV4, providing important information that will result in a safer riding experience for motorcyclists everywhere."

The SKULLY AR-1 is built upon the SKULLY Synapse™ technology platform that enhances awareness of its users by linking advanced head up display (HUD) optics to an intelligent network including a camera, sensors and microprocessors. The AR-1 features a revolutionary HUD system that displays at a perceptual distance of 10 feet in front of the rider, a near 180-degree rearview camera, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, smartphonepairing and voice control, making it the world's smartest motorcycle helmet.

SKULLY recently completed a record-breaking pre-order campaign on Indiegogo that saw the company reach its $250,000 fundraising goal in just eight minutes and ultimately surpass $2.8 million as consumers signed on to be the first to own a SKULLY helmet. It was the most successful tech campaign in Indiegogo history. The SKULLY AR-1 helmet is scheduled for release in mid 2015.
