Transplace names sales director for Mexico(Fleet Owner Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Transportation management services company Transplace has named Sonney Jones sales director of the company’s Mexico division. Jones will focus on providing cross-border and intra-Mexico logistics services. Jones joins Transplace with expertise in transportation operations and sales with an industrial engineering background. Most recently, Jones served as transportation director for Daltile, a division of Mohawk Industries, where he provided strategic oversight of varied transportation services. In conjunction with Transplace, Jones led the development and implementation of co-loading program, TransMATCH, for Daltile with Whirlpool Corporation, Convermex and Werner Co. in order to optimize capacity utilization and reduce transportation costs. “Sonney is a game-changer as demonstrated by his passion and thought leadership in the co-loading program based in Mexico,” said George Abernathy, president & chief commercial officer. “He brings a breadth of supply chain and Mexico experience along with innovative thinking, which will help Transplace further develop new relationships and strengthen current ones.” © 2014 Penton Media |
