MEDFORD, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

PixarBio Corporation is pleased to announce that its CEO Frank Reynolds will be honored with the 2015 Taoiseach Award on March 5, 2015. The Taoiseach Award (Gaelic for Prime Minister Award) will be presented by Anne Andersen, Irish Ambassador to the USA in Philadelphia in a ceremony hosted by the Irish American Business Chamber and Network.

Upon receiving notification of his selection for this prestigious award, Frank Reynolds said, "It is an honor to be selected and join the ranks of distinguished Irish-American Taoiseach Award winners I respect and admire. I want to thank the Irish-American Business Chamber for continuously supporting me and my cause over the last 15 years. It was the first group of its kind that I joined after my 1992 spinal cord injury. It has helped me assimilate back into the work world and make a difference for patients and for the Irish-American community."

News of the award was well received. Robert S. Langer of MIT's (News - Alert) Langer Lab, co-founder of PixarBio and friend of many years, commented: "Frank is one of the hardest working Irishman I know in life sciences, and he's driven by is desire to help patients with tough neurological challenges." Katrin Holzhaus, PixarBio's COO added: "With his determination and integrity Frank seems to make the impossible... possible."

The Taoiseach Award is presented to a member of the Irish-American community who has, by example, shown exceptional business leadership and compassion. The Taoiseach Award takes its name from the original Irish title meaning Chieftain or Leader. Previous Taoiseach Award recipients include James and Frances Maguire, Rev. Timothy R. Lannon S.J., Henry J. "Harry" McHugh, Jim and Jacki Delaney, and Father John McNamee.
