Allianz Life Hires Ricci Granberg as Assistant Vice President Risk Policy

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life^®) hired Ricci Granberg as assistant vice president Risk Policy. In this role, Granberg ensures that a comprehensive risk governance framework is in place, helping the company understand and manage risks. He is also responsible for the company's risk assessment and reporting processes as well as overseeing the credit and operational risk management areas. Granberg reports to the Chief Risk Officer, Andreas Graser.

"Ricci brings 20 years of experience in corporate finance and policy strategy to our group. We are pleased that he has joined the Corporate Risk Management team at Allianz Life," said Graser. "His proven track record of building high performing teams will truly add value to the organization and create positive esults for our customers."

Most recently, Granberg held the role of deputy head of Group Accounting Policy at Allianz SE in Munich, Germany for more than three years. During that time he had global responsibility for insurance accounting policy and helped influence the development of new accounting standards. Prior to working in Munich, Granberg led the Allianz of America Accounting Policy Team, supporting both Allianz Life and Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. Over the past 7 years, Granberg has built many relationships within Allianz Life and across the Allianz Group. Prior to joining Allianz, Granberg held various finance leadership positions with MetLife and Lucent Technologies.

Granberg, who is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, N.J. and a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting from the Rutgers Graduate School of Management in Newark, N.J.
