Residential Home Health Named 2014 HomeCare Elite Top Agency

Residential Home Health, a Troy, MI-based provider of in-home skilled healthcare services and a subsidiary of Graham Holdings Company, is pleased to announce that its Illinois agency has been designated as a HomeCare Elite Top Agency for the second year in a row.

This is the sixth time that a Residential agency has earned this coveted distinction. Now in its ninth year, HomeCare Elite recognizes the best performing Medicare-certified home health agencies (top 25%) in the United States.

Winners of this award are selected on the basis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practices (process measure) implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS® or HHCAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. Out of 9,996 agencies considered, 2,501 are elite.

The HomeCare Elite award is sponsored by OCS National Research Corporation, the leading provider of home health metrics and analytics, and by DecisionHealth, publisher of the most respected independent newsletter in the home health profession, Home Health Line.

"The 2014 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care in their home health communities and we recognize them for their remarkable achievements," said Mary Oakes, Senior Vice President of Post-Acute at National Research. "We congratulate Residential Home Health on being recognized as a top home care agency."

Mike Lewis, Chairman and CEO of Residential Home Health, stated: "As a company dedicated to providing excellent care and lie-changing support to our patients and their loved ones, we are honored to be acknowledged for our outcome and satisfaction metrics with the honor of being named a Top Agency. This boosts and reinvigorates our commitment to the sacred work we do every day."

Marci Heydt, Product Manager for the post-acute care business group of DecisionHealth, also commented on the award. "HomeCare Elite recognition is a significant acknowledgement. In today's healthcare ecosystem, it is imperative that our seniors have access to quality home healthcare in order to ensure better patient outcomes and improve overall cost, and therefore, home healthcare continues to remain an integral part of the care continuum. The winners of the HomeCare Elite Award are proving that a heightened focus on clinical outcomes, patient experience, and financial management lead to success," said Heydt.
