The Healthcare Leadership Council Joins the Coalition for ICD-10The Healthcare Leadership Council, a coalition of healthcare chief executives from all disciplines within the U.S. healthcare industry, is the latest organization to join the Coalition for ICD-10 and advocate for U.S. adoption of the ICD-10 coding standard in 2015. The Coalition for ICD-10 promotes the critical importance of ICD-10 to improving quality measurement, public health surveillance, clinical research, and healthcare payment through research, education, and advocacy. Representing some of the largest and most influential healthcare organizations in the country, the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) provides an exclusive forum for health leaders to jointly develop policies, plans, and programs hat achieve a vision of a 21st century system that makes affordable, high-quality care accessible to all Americans. HLC works to provide access to health coverage for the uninsured, accelerate the growth of health information technology, reform healthcare payment systems, promote quality improvement, advance patient safety, address workforce challenges, reform medical liability, and improve care through patient information sharing while also protecting patient confidentiality. "HLC is pleased to join our respected partners in this coalition as a way to further support the adoption of ICD-10," said Mary Grealy, HLC President.
