Annual Miami Conference on the Business of Health Care to Focus on Technology, Access and Efficiency


CORAL GABLES, Fla., Jan. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As businesses continue to face an historic transformation of the U.S. health care system in 2015, the University of Miami School of Business Administration will host the fourth in its series of premier health care impact conferences, The Business of Health Care: Disruptive Technology, Access and Efficiency.

Organized by the School's Center for Health Sector Management and Policy on March 23, 2015, the conference will bring together industry thought leaders to discuss the impact of new technology on the health care system and how that impacts the wider business community.

Keynote speakers include Gregory D. Wasson, former president and CEO of Walgreen Co.; Jason Hwang, Co-Author, "The Innovator's Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Healthcare"; and Patrick Conway, deputy administrator for innovation and quality and chief medical officer at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Shalala, president of the University of Miami and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. The conference, presented by Florida Blue, is expected to draw some 700 professionals from across business and government as it has over the past several years. Attendees will include those working within the industries of health care, health care delivery and health care policy and administration, as well as business leaders and other professionals in the finance, technology, legal, marketing, government and public policy, and academic sectors.
