Former Pearson CEO William Ethridge Joins Turnitin Board of Directors


OAKLAND, Calif., March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Turnitin®, the leader in originality checking and online grading, today announced that William Ethridge, most recently the chief executive officer of Pearson North America, is joining the Turnitin Board of Directors. Ethridge brings over 30 years of experience in secondary and higher education, along with deep international experience, to the Turnitin Board.

From 2008 to 2015, Ethridge served as North American CEO and Board Member of Pearson, the leading global educational services company. As CEO, Ethridge was responsible for Pearson's higher education, K-12, assessment, professional and educational techology services businesses. Ethridge also served as CEO and President of Pearsons U.S. Higher Education, International, and Professional Publishing Group, a division of Pearson from 2003 to 2008.



Prior to joining Pearson in 1998, Ethridge held several positions at Prentice Hall, including President of Prentice Hall's sciences and technical publishing operations. He also served as Chairman of CourseSmart, a publishers' digital e-book consortium, and as Chairman of the Association of American Publishers (AAP).
