ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ and Dr. Travis Stork Answer Your "Congestion Questions" with New Campaign

EWING, N.J., May 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Church & Dwight Co., Inc. (NYSE: CHD), the manufacturers of ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ nasal mists, have released a new marketing campaign that provides resources and relief to allergy and congestion sufferers nationwide. Featuring ER-physician and host of TV's "The Doctors" Dr. Travis Stork, a long-time partner of Simply Saline products, the "Congestion Questions" campaign offers consumers an opportunity to engage in active conversations about their ongoing nasal congestion concerns while introducing a resource which provides real-time advice from the ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ brand.

The creative execution of the :15 and :30 second commercials features Stork answering the questions of consumers as they navigate their allergy season nasal congestion, while providing tips and recommending Simply Saline as a useful remedy for clearing nasal congestion for allergy and sinus relief. Dr. Stork also invites viewers to submit their own questions by visiting the Congestion Questions website (www.CongestionQuestions.com), which will accept consumer inquiries and provide answers from the brand and Dr. Stork.

"Our new campaign seeks to address the consumer need for real-time information that provides relief during key moments of the year," said Stacey Feldman, Vice President of Marketing, Church & Dwight. "We look forward to helping consumers through the allergy season as well as their everyday maintenance with the Simply Saline line of nasal care products."

In addition to the new marketing campaign, ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ will introduce new product packaging for its children and baby products, featuring characters from "Sesame Street." Specifically, "Sesame Street's Elmo" will be included on ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ Baby Nasal Relief Mist and ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ Baby Nasal Swabs, while "Cookie Monster" will be in included on the ARM & HAMMER™ Simpy Saline™ Children's Cold Formula and new ARM & HAMMER™ Simply Saline™ Children's Allergy Relief products. The new packaging will be rolling out into stores over the next few months.

The "Congestion Questions" campaign - developed with agency partners at The Joey Company, a Brooklyn-based marketing agency, positions Simply Saline alongside the larger trend of consumer tele-health, wherein health-related services and information are disseminated through telecommunications technologies. Over the next few months, Simply Saline will release additional "Congestion Questions"-themed commercials featuring Dr. Stork and answering a variety of consumer questions.

"I've always supported saline-based nasal solutions and drug-free* products like Simply Saline, which offer consumers relief for their congestion and also help to soothe irritated nasal passageways," said Dr. Travis Stork. "In our digital world, I think it's also important to give consumers the tools to take a proactive approach to their health routine, so this new campaign is a great fit."

And with allergy season officially underway, Dr. Stork suggests a few tips to surviving the spring:

  1. When it comes to clearing nasal congestion, keep it simple and natural. The overuse of over-the-counter nasal decongestants can actually cause your congestion to return much worse than when it first appeared. Using products that are drug-free and derived from natural ingredients, such as ARM & HAMMERTM Simply SalineTM Nasal Mists, can be extremely effective in clearing nasal congestion without side-effects.
  2. Stay active, and work out in the afternoon. Staying active and exercising for at least 30 minutes a day is a great way to fight off illness, but for allergy sufferers, be sure to plan workouts accordingly. Pollen counts are highest in the morning (between 5am-10am), so it's best to plan a time of day when pollen levels are a bit lower.
  3. Don't forget to allergy-proof the house. Allergens exist indoors and outdoors, so take steps to make your home allergy-proof. A simple way to keep allergens at bay is to wipe your feet and take off your shoes when entering the home. You can also prevent mold by keeping the indoor air dry with a dehumidifier and remove allergens by cleaning the floors with a vacuum that has a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter.
