North America Procurement Council Gives Businesses One Trillion Reasons to Celebrate This 4th of July

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo., June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Economic Independence Day has finally dawned. The North America Procurement Council, a Colorado-based public benefit corporation, has launched a family of citizen-owned web portals connecting American businesses to the current purchasing requests of nearly every government agency, from the upper echelons of Washington D.C. to the smallest municipalities. Chief among these new sites is http://americasbiz.net/, a national database of bid requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for qualifications (RFQs) and requests for information (RFIs), among other solicitations. Portals for each of the 50 states are accessible via http://www.napc.pro/portals/.

Tim Loncarich, CEO of North America Procurement Council.

"For the first time in American history, the current and recent procurement solicitations of most every federal, state, county and city government agency are freely available in one place," said NAPC CEO Tim Loncarich. "This is important because it makes it much easier for American businesses to do business with government agencies, and because it brings much needed transparency to the cumbersome, asteful government contracting process. We're demonstrating that the people themselves can fill their own needs without relying on government hand holding."

At the federal level alone, total contract value on all projects exceeds 1 trillion dollars. Historically, too much of these funds has been frittered away on pork barrel projects or simply mismanaged, and the titanic bureaucracy that is the US government has neither the incentive nor the capacity to monitor every dollar. That's where Americasbiz.net comes in.

Anyone can browse federal, state and local government purchase requests without registering or paying any fees. The new sites represent the enactment of NAPC's mission of making government contracting more accessible and transparent for those businesses that want to partner with the public sector but aren't sure where to begin.

NAPC's web portals are more than just clearinghouses for government contracts, however. Private businesses are likewise free to post their own advertisements for goods and services, connecting to a vast, nationwide network of potential suppliers. Business owners can compare bids to find the right combination of quality, service and cost – no existing service provides exactly what NAPC is now providing free.

"These new business portals have the potential to greatly reduce the cost of goods and services purchased by government agencies while reducing the opportunities for corruption and over-spending of tax-payers' money," remarked Loncarich. "Cutting the cost of government puts more money back into tax-payers' pockets, stimulates the economy and boosts employment."

Americasbiz.net and the associated web portals aim to boost economic activity not through the infusion of taxpayer monies, but through more efficient and accountable spending of those monies.

Profit generation is not the motive behind Americasbiz.net. Thus far, the site has been supported entirely with donations. In the future, paid memberships and ancillary services will sustain the site and enable users to continue leveraging all of its features at no cost.
