"We look forward to expanding our work with Allergan to address important scientific questions regarding the unmet needs of patients treated with intrauterine devices that can be answered from analyses of real-world data," said Dr. Nicole Hobbs, medical informatics director at Intermountain Healthcare. "Our goal is to optimize patient care by leveraging the insights we generate from this type of research."

The collaboration was launched in April 2014 to improve treatment protocols for respiratory diseases. Multiple projects are at various stages with initial results released at the American Thoracic Society's Annual Meeting.

"We are very encouraged with our association with ConvergeHEALTH and Intermountain and the near real- time insights we receive from OutcomesMiner," said Gavin Corcoran, chief medical officer, Allergan.

In addition to working with ConvergeHEALTH, Allergan will continue to engage with Intermountain's Homer Warner Center for Informatics Research in conducting follow-on studies approved by an institutional review board. The Homer Warner Center is dedicated to th discovery and implementation of information technologies to enable data driven improvements to clinical care.

"Intermountain is a global leader in women's health and by collaborating with them we can generate insights that will help providers and patients choose the most appropriate treatments to best match their personalized needs," said Dr. Shailja Dixit, executive director, health economics and outcomes research at Allergan.

According to Brett Davis, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and general manager of ConvergeHEALTH by Deloitte, the expansion reflects ConvergeHEALTH's ability to help life sciences and health care organizations worldwide make advances in translational research, real-world evidence and personalized medicines.
