LAS VEGAS, Sept. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A lucky poker player won $100,000 Monday night, September 26, at The Venetian Las Vegas ("The Venetian") following the conclusion of the second annual $250,000 Shuffle Master Classic Three Card Poker National Championship, sponsored by Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS) ("Scientific Games" or the "Company").

Shakil Haider, one of 91 contestants competing for the Shuffle Master Classic top prize of $100,000 at The Venetian as a part of the week's Global Gaming Expo ("G2E") festivities, qualified for the event at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He withstood more than six hours of play on Monday night to walk away with Three Card Poker bragging rights and a hefty $100,000 payday. Each contestant who made Monday night's final table of seven players cashed in big as well, with alternate payouts ranging between $10,000 and $50,000.

The Shuffle Master Classic was open to any player who visited one of the participating North American casinos during their designated promotional timeframe. To qualify for the Three Card Poker National Championship, players must have hit a "qualifying hand" on one of 10 Shuffle Master proprietary table games – Three Card Poker, DJ Wild®, Flushes Gone Wild®, Four Card Poker, Caribbean Stud® Poker, Let it Ride®, Mississippi Stud®, Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em®, Texas Hold 'Em Bonus® and Crazy 4 Poker®.

Each of the 91 qualifiers received travel vouchers for their trip to Las Vegas and a VIP treatment once they arrived, including an exclusive welcome and cocktail party inside Lavo at The Palazzo on Sunday, September 25.
