MetLife Recognized for Leadership on Environmental IssuesMetLife (NYSE:MET) announced today that is has been recognized by CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project) for leadership in reporting and management of climate change issues. CDP, a not-for-profit that assesses the work of more than 5,000 companies worldwide on environmental performance, gave MetLife an A minus, placing the company in the "Leadership" category. Companies in this category scored 75% or higher on disclosure, awareness, and management of environmental issues, they also earn additional points for other actions they have taken. CDP scores are based upon a company's disclosure practices and management of climate change risks. The CDP global disclosure system helps companies measure and manage their environmental impact.
