EuropaCorp Becomes First Studio to Leverage Tremor Video's New ACR Theatrical Solution to Connect Video Ad Investment with Movie Going Audiences

Tremor Video, Inc. (NYSE:TRMR), a provider of software for video ad effectiveness, is aiming to change the face of theatrical advertising. US film studio, EuropaCorp, is the first to take advantage of Tremor Video's in-theater attribution solution, powered by Alphonso's automatic content recognition (ACR) technology. The proprietary technology will be applied for the first time for closed-loop attribution and movie-goer audience collection on EuropaCorp's Miss Sloane, released in New York and Los Angeles on November 25, and in theaters everywhere on December 9.

"Data and technology have changed the face of television advertising, and with this new product we're aiming to do the same thing for theatrical advertising," said Abbey Thomas, SVP of Entertainment and Auto, Tremor Video. "For the first time in over 100 years, a studio can tap into deep insights about consumers who saw their film opening weekend. By not relying on beacons or location-based targeting, this automatic content-recognition technology can tell a much stronger story than ever before and helps studios better reach their intended audience."

"The technology from Tremor Video will give us a look the big picture of media spending," said Tommy Gargotta, President of Marketing at EuropaCorp. "EuropaCorp is excited to utilize this technology to better connect with movie-goers and sustain that connection."

Putting "viewers in seats" is an ae-old objective for studios, but until now, location-based devices and beaconing have been unable to pinpoint which viewers saw their ads and went in-theater. With this new Alphonso-powered ACR technology, EuropaCorp can track these proof-points of ad effectiveness, building longer relationships with theatergoers who converted after seeing their ads-well beyond opening weekend.
