Securus Named as Finalist in 2017 Stevie® Awards for Sales and Customer Service

DALLAS, Jan. 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Securus Technologies, a leading provider of civil and criminal justice technology solutions for public safety, investigation, corrections and monitoring announced today that it has been named a finalist in the Customer Service Training Team of the Year category in the 11th annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service. Being named a finalist means that Securus will ultimately be a Gold, Silver or Bronze Stevie Award winner in this year's program, which represents a significant accomplishment for Securus.

The awards are presented by the Stevie Awards, which organizes seven of the world's leading business awards shows including the prestigious International Business Awards and the Stevie Awards for Great Employers.

The final results will be announced during a gala banquet on Friday, February 24 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Finalists from the U.S.A. and several other nations are expected to attend.

More than 2,300 nominations from organizations of all sizes, and in virtually every industry, were evaluated in this year's competition. Finalists were determined by averaging the scores of 77 preliminary judges from around the world. Entries were considered in 61 categories for customer service and contact center achievements, including the Contact Center of the Year Award, the Award for Innovation in Customer Service, and the Customer Service Department of the Year Award.

"It's really all about empathy," stated Danny de Hoyos, Senior Vice President of Operations at Securus Technologies. "In 2016, Securus committed to yet again raise the bar on how e service customers and this begins with raising the bar on how we train our employees. It starts with empathy, and really understanding that our customers have experienced a life-changing event with a lot of stress. With this in mind, our training team focused on developing materials and methods that would help our agents empathize with their customers, focus on their needs and help them through this stressful time. I'm glad to say that it has worked and that we're seeing the best customer satisfaction scores in our history."

Members of seven specialized judging committees will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award placements from among the finalists during final judging, to take place January 23 - February 1, 2017.

"This year's first-round judges were treated to many inspiring stories of sales, customer service and business development success around the world," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. "The final judges will have a tough task to determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie placements from among the Finalists. We look forward to announcing the results at the awards program in Las Vegas next month."
