Bell announces offering of MTN DebenturesThis news release contains forward-looking statements. MONTRÉAL, Feb. 22, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell Canada (Bell) today announced the public offering of Cdn $1.5 billion of MTN Debentures in two series pursuant to its medium term notes (MTN) program. The $1 billion 2.70% MTN Debentures, Series M-44, will be dated February 27, 2017, will mature on February 27, 2024, and will be issued at a price of $99.886 per $100 principal amount. The $500 million 4.45% MTN Debentures, Series M-45, will be dated February 27, 2017, will mature on February 27, 2047, and will be issued at a price of $99.475 per $100 principal amount. The MTN Debentures will be fully and unconditionally guaranteed by BCE Inc. The net proceeds of the offering are intended to be used principally to partially fund the acquisition by BCE of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc. and to repay short-term debt. The MTN Debentures are being publicly offered in all provinces of Canada through a syndicate of agents. The MTN Debentures offering is expected to close on February 27, 2017.
