Therap Announces Training Academy Courses on recording Person Centric Demographic Data

WATERBURY, Conn., Feb. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Therap's new series of courses on Demographics include introductory and administrative management of the Individual Data and Emergency Data modules on Therap. Courses offer Therap users step-by-step instructions on how to effectively enter data on individual, attach photos, add shared contacts, hence store and view different information of an individual.  These courses are designed to help staff record and maintain essential information regarding the individuals they support.   

The new Training Academy Demographic series, is available at no cost to Therap users, including caregivers and other service professionals, providing supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and other Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). The Demographics course series will provide an effective and consistent quality learning tool for new staff familiarizing themselves with the electronic documentation system.  Users learn how to enter basic information such as first and last names, gender, date of birth, SSN, medicaid number, admission date, physical features, tc. They are able to attach current photographs of the individual and add external files or attach scanned documents to this module. If an agency is running programs providing specialized services, an individual's enrollment in these programs can be tracked here. The date of enrollment, physical locations and contact information of these programs are also recorded here.

With the Demographics series, Therap launches a new training format aimed at engaging users using interactive, easy-to-follow instructions that is on-demand and available to re-take as often as desired.

With agency training costs, staffing coverage and staff travel to and from training locations in mind, Therap's new course structure offers the same training content and objectives users would find at agency new hire training or Therap regional conferences, but accommodating the user's work schedule, at their convenience from work sites across the community. Therap's Training Academy now offers over 70 self paced, on-demand courses since it's launch in 2015. In addition to the Demographics series, additional course topics include incident reporting, employment, health tracking, individual support plans, attendance, person centered documentation, and behavior tracking, among others. Additionally, Therap works with the State of Washington to offer Continuing Education Units for select courses for eligible users.
