Midtronics CELLGUARD-GEN-3 TELCO Offers a 24/7/365 Battery Monitoring Solution to Telecommunications Providers

An innovative and cost effective solution for critical backup power reliability is now available to telecommunications providers with the release of Midtronics Stationary Power's CELLGUARD-GEN-3 TELCO Battery Monitoring System. This customer-driven product assures reliable 24/7/365 monitoring of VLA and VRLA batteries.

"The CELLGUARD-GEN-3 TELCO Battery Monitoring System is an innovative solution to continuously monitor state of health of batteries in a cost effective way," said Todd Stukenberg, Vice President and General Manager of Midtronics Stationary Power Division. "It directly addresses a need with several of our customer markets, including the telecom market that now faces requirements on infrastructure performance in a simple and cost-effective package."

CELLGUARD-GEN-3 TELCO uses patented wireless technology to perform diagnostics and to collect test resuts from sensors, which are connected to batteries. The collected data is sent to a server, running Midtronics CELLTRAQ Software, from which user can view the data for trend analysis and review battery warnings and alarms. Wireless communication eliminates the need for long communication wires required by other battery monitoring systems. This makes installation and maintenance very clean and easy.

Product Features and Benefits include:

  • Accurate and reliable indication of battery state of health through monitoring and analysis of battery voltage, temperature, and conductance
  • Provides automatic visual alarms, email and dry alarm contacts
  • Securely provides detailed battery health status reports
  • Lowers total cost of system ownership
  • Provides analog and binary Input alarms to integrate with existing infrastructure
