Komand Extends Its Komunity, Unveils Marketplace to Make Adoption of Security Orchestration and Automation Frictionless

BOSTON, March 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Komand , a security orchestration and automation platform, today announced the launch of its community marketplace. Now, all Komand customers and community members can use and contribute to the extensive library of security integrations. As of today, Komand's marketplace features 104 plugins, with over 200+ associated triggers and actions right out of the box. Komand adds several plugins every week, and with the launch of the marketplace, they expect to see a growing number of contributions from Komand users.

As an extension of the Komand Komunity, which aims to help security defenders collaborate for the betterment of the information security industry, the marketplace empowers security teams using Komand to extend the value of their current suite of tools and add automation between them as fast as possible. Historically, lack of integration across many products has been a barrier to implementing security automation for organizations.

"Custom integrations are a huge pain point for security teams," said Jen Andre, CEO and founder of Komand. "Many security products don't have integrations as out of the box functionality, and teams don't have time to create custom integrations for every product. This hinders adding automation quickly, which ultimately holds teams back and makes them less efficient. With a ide variety of plugins, and with our community contributing to our library, the plugin marketplace enables teams to actually connect their tools and quickly build effective automated workflows."

Komand also makes it easy for users to create their own Komand plugins through their plugin SDK, further enabling a frictionless adoption of security orchestration and automation. The plugin SDK provides documentation and utilizes simple tooling to help teams create powerful integrations fast. The plugin SDK is available in Python and Go, and a Ruby version is currently in the works.

Some notable plugins include:

  • Duo and Octa for authentication
  • Splunk and Sumo Logic for log management
  • PagerDuty and Slack for team communication
  • Cymon, Phish Tank, and Threat Crowd for threat intel
  • JIRA and Github for case management
  • And utility plugins for IMAP, SMTP, URL extraction, and more

"We've been working hard behind the scenes to build a plugin library that removes the barrier for automation," said Jon Schipp, senior security architect at Komand. "Now we're ready to invite Komand users to add their own plugins. We can't wait to see what the Komunity will create and share. Together, we as defenders can move security forward and ultimately help protect our organizations, data, and people more effectively. That's the real impact."
