Freshfields Attorneys to Speak at ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting


Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (Freshfields) announced today that several of its attorneys will participate as speakers or moderators on panels at the American Bar Association's (ABA) 65th Annual Antitrust Law Spring Meeting. The event is being held in Washington D.C. from March 28-31, 2017.

Freshfields' partners and attorneys will moderate and participate in the following panel discussions:

  • Competition and Consumer Policy in the Green Economy: Bruce McCulloch, a partner in Freshfields' Washington, D.C. office will speak on the clean energy and open market panel from 9:00-10:30am EST on Wednesday, March 29.
  • Leniency at 25: More Jurisdictions, but More Effective?: Dr. Frank Montag, a partner in Freshfields' Brussels office, will speak on the leniency programs panel from 1:45-3:15pm EST on Wednesday, March 29.
  • What Brexit Means for Competition Law: Alison Jones, Professor of Law at King's College and a solicitor in Freshfields' antitrust team in London, will speak on the post-Brexit competitive environment panel from 3:30-5:00pm EST on Wedneday, March 29.
  • Benchmarking: Legitimate Corporate Communication or Potential Collusion: Mary Lehner, a partner in Freshfields' Washington, D.C. office, will moderate a panel on benchmarking from 1:30-3:00pm EST on Thursday, March 30.



The ABA's Section of Antitrust Law's Annual Spring Meeting is the world's largest gathering of antitrust professionals. More than 3,000 attendees representing 60 countries will attend this event.

Freshfields has also been shortlisted for a number of awards in recognition of its antitrust excellence at the upcoming Global Competition Review (GCR)'s 7th Annual Awards Ceremony, which is being held on March 28 in Washington, D.C. These include two nominations for the Matter of the Year category: Anheuser-Busch InBev/ SAB Miller and Boehringer Ingelheim/ Sanofi; Litigator of the Year: John Lawrence, Partner; and Dealmaker of the Year: John Davies, Partner.
