Wealthsimple wins second Webby Award

Leading online investing service named the best financial services website in the world - again!

TORONTO and NEW YORK, April 27, 2017 /CNW/ - Wealthsimple has won a Webby Award, the international award that celebrates the best of the Internet. For the second consecutive year, Wealthsimple's website was named Best Financial Services/Banking website by a jury of Internet experts.

Wealthsimple brings professional investing to everyone, using an incredibly simple digital platform. After winning the award in 2016, Wealthsimple completely tore down and rebuilt its website, making it even more transparent, intuitive and beautiful.

"We're a technology company first, so a super intuitive, human site is crucial," said Rudy Adler, Chief Product Officer at Wealthsimple. "It's like we're having a seamless conversation with people. And conversations evolve. That's why we basically tore up the design even after we won a Webby last year — and built it again. It's a testament to the creativity of our team that we won again this year, with a completely different website."

The website was designed by Wealthsimple's in-house creative team in collaboration with Doberman, with design animation by ManVsMachine and development by Varvet.

Judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the Webby Awards have been called the Internet's highest honour by the New York Times. The 21st Annual Webby Awards received 13,000 entries from over 70 countries.

The Webby Awards will honour Wealthsimple at its ceremony on May 15 in New York City.
