MetaCommunications Announces New CEO

IOWA CITY, Iowa, April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaCommunications, a leader in enterprise resource management solutions for marketing and creative teams, today announced that Gregg Hammann will assume the roles of President and CEO. An experienced former CEO for global brands, Hammann is the current Chair of Meta's board and will be replacing outgoing CEO, Scott Kokotan, who is moving on to a new opportunity. Kokotan is committed to helping the company through the transition.

"I've had the pleasure of working with Scott during his tenure as CEO of Meta, and I've come to value his focus and vision, as well as his strong financial acumen," said Hammann. "Scott provided positive leadership for Meta during a key transitional moment and led the company into an exciting new phase of growth. We've been lucky to have Scott at the helm and we're glad that he's staying on board to advise us through this transition."

Kokotan commented, "It's been an honor to lead Meta through this exciting period of change. I'm very proud of everything we accomplished — from both a business and technology perspective. I came to Meta as the compan's first CFO before moving into the CEO role. The things that attracted me to the company initially — great software, an incredible client roster, a talented team — are even stronger today. The company's strategy is working, the management team is strong and it's the right time for me to move on. I firmly believe that with Gregg as CEO, Meta is poised for even greater success."

Meta's flagship product, Workgroups DaVinci, is an award-winning marketing resource management solution used by hundreds of the world's leading brands. The company's latest release, ProofMe, is a lightweight proofing and annotation tool that allows small teams and solo creatives to gather real-time feedback on creative files.

Hammann joined Meta's board in 2016 as the Chairman, bringing deep experience in successful president and CEO roles for an array of global companies. From 2003 - 2007 he was President and CEO of publicly traded Nautilus Inc., later becoming Chairman, where he repositioned the company and led them from near bankruptcy to the most profitable company in the fitness industry.

Previously, Hammann held leadership positions at Levi Strauss & Company, The Coca-Cola Company, Famous Footwear, The Rayovac Corporation, and Procter & Gamble. In 2007, Hammann started his own consulting firm, Action Advisors, advising major Fortune 500 companies including Disney, Microsoft, and Walmart on corporate strategy and serving as an acting CEO for three separate companies.

Meta Board member and President and CEO of the Entrepreneurial Development Center, Curt Nelson, commented, "The board and I have the utmost confidence in Gregg and Meta's leadership team to lead the business and continue our strong performance. We're very excited to support Gregg as he leads the company to the next stage of its growth."
