The Rogue Initiative Scores Seven-Figure Round of 'Series A' Funding Led by CBT Capital Limited


HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rogue Initiative, the full spectrum production studio and cinematic content developer, has secured a seven-figure round of Series A funding by CBT Capital Limited, a China based 2Billion RMB culture & media fund partnered with CRTV that is offering capital and strategic resources. The funding will be used for further development of original traditional and immersive Film and Television Projects/Entertainment Content Intellectual Properties and relevant technologies.

The financing comes as The Rogue Initiative had previously announced a partnership with Michael Bay to develop original entertainment properties, having additionally appointed the famed Transformers director as stakeholder, strategic partner and advisor. Producer Lynda Obst (Interstellar, Contact, Sleepless in Seattle) holds a similar partnership role. They join advisors Matthew Cohan, President of Bay Films; Cliff Plumer, CEO of THE VOID, Cody Simms, Executive Director at TechStars and , General Partner of Outpost Capital.

In collaboration with key filmmakers, studios, and technology companies, Rogue Initiative's vision is to bring together the best of Hollywood storytelling and a fierce technology pedigree.  Their current announced projects include the VR Game Experience CROWE: THE DROWNED ARMORY, which will release later this month on major game and VR platforms, and the VR Film AGENT EMERSON, the pilot of the Identity Experience series, which stars Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass) and Tony Denison (Major Crimes) and is currently in post-production with a late summer release date scheduled for all major VR platforms.
