Soberlink and Butler Hospital Team Up for Groundbreaking New Detox Program

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Soberlink, the leader in mobile breath alcohol detection technology, announced its participation in a cutting-edge pilot program with Butler Hospital. The program, which began in January 2017, and is directed by Dr. Alan Gordon, combines state-of-the-art technology with outpatient treatment and counseling. An alternative to inpatient treatment, the program allows patients to live at home and use Soberlink technology to help them through detoxification and rehabilitation with the support of family and friends.

Soberlink's newest technology consists of an integrated system that combines a web-connected blood pressure cuff and the Soberlink Device. The technology allows doctors to remotely monitor a patient's status and sobriety, which is an opportunity rarely given to doctors in traditional rehabilitation settings.

"We are so proud to be part of this new program with Dr. Gordon and the prestigious Butler Hospital," says Brad Keays, CEO of Soberlink Healthcare. "We believe the people affected by this disease deserve advanced and cost-effective treatment options, and we'e very happy to be partnered with Dr. Gordon, who believes the same."

Sometimes referred to as virtual detox, the Butler program and Soberlink technology give patients the opportunity to fit recovery into their day-to-day life, instead of separating patients from their critical support system. It also allows those who simply refuse inpatient detox an effective way to begin their life in recovery from the comfort of their own home.

This unique program was recently featured in The Providence Journal. The article details the program and gives insight from a patient who has successfully gone through the program.

Soberlink is committed to changing the perception of alcohol use disorders by developing technology for addiction and recovery management. In 2016, the Soberlink Cellular Device gained FDA 510(k) clearance for medical use.

Since 2011, Soberlink has become the fastest growing recovery system on the market. The Soberlink System promotes accountability and connectivity with real-time BAC testing. Soberlink's passionate pursuit of better recovery drove the company to develop the world's first web connected breathalyzer with facial recognition software. The company remains at the forefront of innovation in the handheld, mobile breath category with the patented Soberlink Cellular, Soberlink Bluetooth and Sober Sky Web Portal.
