UES Grants Program Makes $80,000 Available to Local Nonprofit GroupsUniSource Energy Services (UES) will award $80,000 this fall to help nonprofit organizations improve education, protect our environment and expand limited-income assistance through its Community Impact Grants. Applications and guidelines will become available on UES' website at uesaz.com/community beginning on Tuesday, August 1. Applications must be submitted online by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, to be considered for funding. UES Community Impact Grants are available to organizations in northern and southern Arizona communities served by UES. Grants will be awarded this fall to nonprofit organizations that provide services in three focus areas:
UES Community Impact Grants are awarded annually through a competitive process. UES employees evaluate program effectiveness and sustainability to choose grant recipients, who must demonstrate financial and organizational stability and meet other criteria. Agencies often use their grants as matching funds to seek additional funding from other sources. UES provides electric service to approximately 95,000 customers in Mohave and Santa Cruz counties.
