ECFC Announces 2017 Annual Symposium


ECFC, the leading nonprofit organization promoting choice in benefit solutions, today announced speakers and the agenda for its 30th Annual Symposium. ECFC's Annual Symposium event will feature educational tracks that focus on timely technical topics including: Health FSA Expenses and Substantiation, ERISA Compliance, HSAs, COBRA, Cyber Liability, HIPAA, Compliance for Wellness, telemedicine and on-site clinics.

"With the healthcare market on the brink of change, it is important to be knowledgeable in all areas of consumer-directed benefits. Being well informed in this ever-changing climate makes brokers and benefits administrators more valuable to their client organizations," said ECFC's Executive Director Martin Trussell. "We know one thing for sure about efforts to reform healthcare, consumer-directed benefits are here to stay."

ECFC's Annual Symposium takes place August 2-4 in Kansas City, Missouri. Healthcare experts will speak on their areas of expertise with general sessions including design thinking and consumerism plans, the emise of the ACA, as well as technical panels on liability and SOC 2 considerations, best practices for compliance, and more. Design Thinking and Consumerism

As healthcare consumerism continues to take hold in the marketplace, new market needs are emerging. Cigna has adopted a methodology called "design thinking" to create and launch new product offerings that are desirable, viable, and feasible - and offer real value to their customers. Attendees will see how Cigna created their design thinking methodology, which infuses human-centered approaches, mindsets, research, and methods.

2017 Legislative and Regulatory Update - The 115th Congress and the Trump Administration: A Look Ahead with Experts at Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas Inc.

Hear from the experts about challenges and opportunities for ECFC member priorities during the remainder of 2017 with Congress and the Trump Administration. Attendees will be updated on the political climate, key administrative and legislative initiatives and ECFC's federal level engagement on behalf of its members.
