"I am very excited to bring my experience to Lighting Science and the fast-growing sectors we are targeting," said Khim. "We are looking forward to bringing the benefits of lighting technology to our customers. Whether in living spaces such as offices and bedrooms, classrooms, or plant growth facilities, our products are improving the quality of lives and enhancing crop yields."

"Lighting Science continues to disrupt the lighting industry with never-before-seen innovations in LED lighting," said Joel Haney, Principal at Pegasus, Lighting Sciences' largest shareholder. "We are committed to Lighting Science's vision of bringing light to life, and Khim's passion for sustainability, combined with his background in LED lighting, made him the perfect fit to lead the company and oversee its growth."

Khim will work alongside Abraham Morris, Eecutive Chairman of Lighting Science, Ed Bednarcik, CEO of GVL, David Friedman (News - Alert), the recently appointed President of VividGro®, the horticultural arm of Lighting Science, and Fred Maxik, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Lighting Science.

"We are very pleased to welcome Khim into the Lighting Science family," said Fred Maxik, founder and CTO of Lighting Science. In conjunction with our work with Harvard and NASA, Lighting Science has proven that light can have positive impacts on human health and biology, and we are committed to developing these technologies to enable a healthier future."

Khim received his Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and Economics from the University of California Berkeley and received his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from California Institute of Technology. He started his career at McKinsey & Co. in San Francisco, CA. Khim then served as Product Line Director at Philips (News - Alert) Lumileds, a business group at Philips Lighting, where he launched and built its Mid-Power lighting LED product line.
