RealWear Receives the Frost & Sullivan 2017 North American New Product Innovation Award in the Industrial Wearables Market

RealWear today announced it has received the Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) 2017 North American New Product Innovation Award in the Industrial Wearables Market. The company was recognized for its flagship product, the HMT-1, the world's first voice-driven, completely hands-free, head-mounted wearable tablet computer for connected industrial workers. The Frost & Sullivan North American New Product Innovation Award is presented to the company that has "successfully introduced new and innovative products into their markets, with emphasis on product quality and customer value."

"Companies around the globe are seeing firsthand the benefits that the HMT-1 can deliver to workers in rugged and unpredictable environments," said Andy Lowery, CEO, RealWear. "This award from Frost & Sullivan is validation of our design process to engineer a hands-free device platform that specifically targets the safety and ergonomic needs of industrial workers in challenging work environments. Transforming how industrial work gets done, the HMT-1 delivers on the promise of productivity from the Internet of Things."

According to Frost & Sullivan's report on RealWear, one of the major challenges in the commercialization of industrial wearables is that "it demands perfect collaboration between high-performance hardware and user-friendly software." The report states that RealWear has "bridged the gap" between the two with the HMT-1, "a hands-free voice-visual interface unlike anything offered by the competition, merging high-performance hardware and user-friendly software for industrial applications."

As part of its award process, Frost & Sullivan conducted a rigorous competitive analysis of the RealWear HMT-1. The analysis included an array of criteria in the categories of New Product Attributes and Customer Impact. RealWear was awarded a combined score of 9.3 out of a possible 10. The next closest competitor received a combined score of 7.5.

"RealWear delivers unmatched performance and customer-inspired reliability with the HMT-1, which is ready for deployment across indoor and harsh outdoor industrial environments," said Sharmila Annaswamy, senior research analyst, Frost & Sullivan. "With its strong overall performance, Frost & Sullivan is proud to announce RealWear as the recipient of the 2017 New Product Innovation Award."

The award-winning RealWear HMT-1 has received worldwide acclaim for its innovation. Featuring an intuitive, 100 percent hands-free interface, the HMT-1 brings remote video collaboration, technical documentation, industrial IoT data visualization, assembly and maintenance instructions, and streamlined inspections right to the eyes and ears of connected industrial workers everywhere.
