FrontStream Launches Provocative Podcast: Asking for More - Real Talk from Real Fundraising Professionals Who Want More from Their Career

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Professional development in the nonprofit sector is elusive for many, and deep discussion on the real issues facing those working for charitable causes are scarce. To help fill this void and inspire fundraising professionals with advice on how to advance in their field, FrontStream – provider of Panorama, the all-in-one online fundraising platform for nonprofits and corporations – launched a new podcast: Asking for More.

FrontStream is the provider of Panorama, the all-in-one online fundraising platform for nonprofits and corporations.

"Asking for More" covers all of the issues (and rewards) related to working for a charity – from launching a career in fundraising to race and gender diversity and generational differences in the nonprofit sector to misconceptions and myths around the cost-per-dollar question.

To subscribe to the "Asking for More" podcast, visit Google Play, Apple iTunes, or Stitcher.

Episod 1: Admin cost is ME!

FrontStream's pilot episode features Mimosa Kabir, Officer of Events & Creative Partnerships at War Child Canada. Mimosa is a changemaking fundraiser who specializes in event management, relationship-building, and tactical planning. On being a Millennial, Mimosa says:

"If I want to work really hard, and I hope that working hard gets me somewhere good, is that entitlement? Young people are solution-oriented, not short-cut oriented."

In addition to diversity and generational differences, other topics Mimosa covers include:

  • Why it's ok not to have a 5-year plan (though everyone loves a good vision board!).
  • "Red flags" when evaluating potential jobs in the nonprofit sector.
  • Why "Admin cost is ME!" deserves to be on a t-shirt.

Episode 2: Nonprofits ARE businesses. Just plain and simple.

The second episode of "Asking for More" features Brady Josephson, Chief Strategist at Shift and CEO of Nonprofit Supply Co.! Self-proclaimed "charity nerd," Brady discusses why optimizing digital content is so important, and how the lack of digital curriculum is hurting nonprofit professionals.

"If you're a great organization offline, it's easy to be a great organization online," said Brady.

He goes on to share his best digital strategies for NPOs, including tips for optimizing email communications (e.g. why nonprofits should try emailing folks when they're on the couch watching Netflix), testing and measuring online campaigns, paid ads on social media, the power of building your own online profile, and more.

The series is hosted by FrontStream's fundraising experts Event Marketing Manager Laura Armstrong, and Director of Digital Philanthropy Claire Kerr, and will air on the last Wednesday of every month. The company is currently booking recordings for charities and nonprofits – free of charge – in their Toronto office.
