CTA's It Is Innovation (i3) Magazine Wins Two Major Publishing Awards in One Week

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced today that It Is Innovation (i3), CTA's flagship publication, recently won two prestigious awards for editorial excellence. i3 focuses on innovation in technology, policy and business as well as the entrepreneurs and startups who grow the industry. It also supports CTA's policy initiatives on Capitol Hill.

The bi-monthly magazine was announced a co-winner of an Eddie Award in the category of Association/Non-Profit - Full Issue - Professional/Membership Association. i3 was recognized for its January issue: "CES (News - Alert) Turns 50." The honor was announced October 11 at the celebratory awards luncheon held during The Folio: Show at the Hilton Midtown in New York City.

The next evening, i3 received a Thoth Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) at an awards dinner at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The awards, named for the Egyptian god of wisdom who was a mediator, scribe and the inventor of communications and writing, recognize outstanding public relations in the national capital area.

"It's a great honor to receive these two awards for editorial excellence," said Gary Shapiro (News - Alert), president and CEO, CTA. "i3 is a critical tool supporting our primary mission - to promote innovation and grow the consumer technology sector. These awards validate the great work of ourĀ team, headed by Cindy Stevens, and our members who help support this vital publication."

i3 features exclusive content from top executives, many are CTA members, as well as startups, including content developers, manufacturers and retailers in the $321 billion consumer technology industry. According to a recent reader survey, subscribers think very highly of i3 - nine in ten (92%) rated it as either "good" or "excellent," up from 88% in 2015. More than half (55%) of i3 readers also indicate they visit the website at least once per month, up from 2015 (49%).

The publication also sponsors the annual Innovation Entrepreneur Awards (IEAs) given out at CTA's Innovate Celebrate conference. To read i3 online and to sign up for a free subscription, visitĀ CTA.tech/i3.
