XAP Corporation Awarded Contract for College and Career Planning System for the Department of Defense Education Activity
XAP Corporation announced it has won a five-year contract from the
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) to develop a Virtual
College and Career Planning Readiness System that will provide
postsecondary-planning resources for secondary students, grades 7 to 12,
attending schools operated by the DoDEA.
The Choices360 education-planning system was selected for its
student-focused features and in-depth resources, which fully support the
DoDEA's goal to implement systemic college advising and increase college
and career readiness for its diverse student population.
The Choices360 system has a comprehensive suite of tools and interactive
self-assessment activities suitable to guide students as they focus on
their education and career plans. The system's key features include:
-
Career Planning-students are able to discover personal
interests and skills through assessment activities, explore and
compare careers, and make the connection between setting postsecondary
goals and achieving their dream career.
-
High School Planning-a wide range of information is available
to assist and advise students on how to succeed in high school, and
students can follow their schol's plan of study to ensure they stay
on track for graduation.
-
College Planning-students can create a personal plan for
college, explore postsecondary schools, programs and majors that best
suit their career goals, submit applications to colleges nationwide,
and utilize free test-preparation resources for the ACT and SAT.
-
Financial Aid Planning-comprehensive information for a wide
range of financial-aid topics is available to students and parents, in
addition to financial-aid tools for calculating expected family
contributions, and projected savings and payment amounts; a robust
scholarships feature lets students research scholarships and other
financial aid, via a national database.
-
Your Portfolio-students can store their postsecondary planning
activities, career plans, standardized test scores, scholarship and
financial-aid information, and more in an online portfolio.
"We are honored to be selected by the Department of Defense's Education
Activity to provide a college and career advising and planning solution
to serve the needs of grade 6-12 dependents of military and civilian
employees throughout the world," said Eddie Monnier, Chief Executive
Officer of XAP Corporation. "We believe there is a pathway for every
student, and we devise solutions to help them find, plan for, and
achieve theirs. Choices360 will play an important role in helping the
DoDEA to assist their students with a successful pathway to college and
career."
The DoDEA operates 166 primary and secondary-level schools in the U.S.
and abroad and serves more than 73,000 students.
