Strosberg Sasso Sutts LLP Announces Investigation of Katanga Mining Limited

Katanga Mining Limited (TSX: KAT) is being investigated by Strosberg Sasso Sutts LLP, a law firm that represents investors in securities class actions.

The firm is investigating the company in the wake of its announcement on November 20, 2017 that it was restating certain financial statements for the years 2015, 2016 and Q1 2017; that all interim consolidated financial statements and interim MD&A since December 31, 2014 should not be relied on; that an internal review found "material weaknesses" in Katanga's financial reporting controls causing three executives from Katanga's parent company, Glencore plc, to resign from Katanga's board of directors; and that the company has been cooperating with the Ontario Securities Commission in the course of an on-going OSC Enforcement Staff Investigtion.

This announcement follows the company's July 31, 2017 announcement that the independent directors were conducting a review of certain of the Company's past accounting and certain financial statements and MD&A will likely require restatement.

Since the November 20, 2017 announcement, the company's shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange have lost more than thirteen percent of their value.
