Shamrock Capital Exits Investment in eDiscovery Leader, Consilio

Shamrock Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, announced today that it has sold its ownership stake in Consilio, a global leader in eDiscoverydocument review, and legal consulting services to private equity firm, GI Partners. As part of the transaction, Consilio announced a definitive agreement to combine its operations with eDiscovery and risk management provider, Advanced Discovery, creating one of the largest and most capable legal solutions and services providers in the world. The transaction is expected to close late in the second quarter of 2018, subject to usual and customary closing conditions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The combined company will consist of over 2,500 employees, 14 worldwide data centers and 23 document review facilities, spanning 11 countries with a follow-the-sun, around-the-clock services delivery model. The company's global operations will support large-scale, fast moving matters that need to process, host and review vast repositories of data. The full solution suit will span information governance, risk management, eDiscovery and document and contract review.

"Since Shamrock's investment in 2015, we have acquired and successfully integrated four companies, while at the same time, growing our existing operations globally," described Andy Macdonald, chief executive officer of Consilio. "The Shamrock team was an essential partner in that success, having brought an array of strategic and operating resources to augment our team. Together, we have built Consilio into a recognized leader in a dynamic and growing industry, and transformed it into a great platform for future growth."

"Andy Macdonald and the Consilio executive team articulated a clear thesis of organic and inorganic growth for the company and they have executed flawlessly to achieve those goals," stated Andy Howard, partner of Shamrock Capital. "We have been fortunate to partner with them during this period as they have delivered, and continue to deliver, compelling and differentiated solutions and services to their clients."

Macdonald added, "We are excited to start this new chapter in the growth story with GI Partners and Advanced Discovery. Our shared vision and commitment is to provide clients with more leverage from technology, more advanced solutions, more refined approaches and more efficiency than are otherwise available in the market. Advanced Discovery is known as a market leader for its innovation, expertise and dedication to service excellence, which aligns very well with the needs of our clients, as well as with Consilio's culture."
