CURE Media Group Launches Weekly Podcast

CURE Media Group, the nation's leading digital and print media enterprise dedicated to patients and survivors of cancer, has launched its new weekly podcast, "CURE® Talks Cancer." The podcast includes interviews with patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates and health care professionals regarding the entire cancer continuum, including specific cancer types, treatment side effects and the psychological strains a diagnosis can have on individuals and their loved ones.

"Today, 'CURE® Talks Cancer,' powered by our incredible CURE® journalists, begins to offer cutting-edge oncology information and deeply moving stories on a much more personal level," said Kerrie Keegan, vice president of editorial services at Michael J. Hennessy Associates Inc. "Our podcast aims to assist patients, caregivers and physicians on every step of their cancer journey and will quite literally speak to the hearts and minds of our dedicated listeners, helping to keep them informed, supported and inspired."

The first podcast features Zionna Hanson, founder of the nonprofit Barbells for Boobs. Hanson discusses how her organization focuses on the 7 percent of people receiving a breast cancer diagnosis who are under age 40 - before regular screening starts. After one of her best friends received the diagnosis, Hanson combined her love of exerise with a newfound passion to raise money and awareness for breast cancer and established Barbells for Boobs.

New episodes of "CURE® Talks Cancer" will come out every Thursday and can be listened to through the CURE® website (curetoday.com/podcasts) or any podcast-streaming app. Upcoming episodes feature Texas Rangers third-base coach Tony Beasley, who has teamed up with Fight Colorectal Cancer, and a pediatric cancer survivor who turned his diagnosis (and subsequent recurrences) into an inspiration for music and writing.
