Mr. Cattanach is a partner in Dorsey's Regulatory Affairs Groups and specializes in helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving area of cybersecurity compliance and protect their interests by preparing for data breaches and responding to them quickly and effectively when they occur. He has represented numerous clients all across the United States in breach responses and in development of privacy policies and procedures. His extensive experience with data breach preparation and response led to his choice as editor-in-chief by The Sedona Conference Working Group 11, which prepared the Guide.

"The Incident Response Guide should be an invaluable tool for a very broad range of companies attempting to cope with risk of data breach," noted Mr. Cattanach. "It lays out best practices both in preparation for the inevitable and for reacting promptly and efficiently when problems occur. One of the challenges in this area is that the law is evolving so fast that policies and practices go out of date very quickly. We believe that public comment on the draft Guide will not only help foster innovative thinking about best practices and compliance but will also help ensure that the final Guide gets out ahead of the curve and anticipates the direction of legal evolution."

A webinar on the Incident Response Guide will be scheduled for later this Spring and will be announced by email and on The Sedona Conference website. The webinar will give interested parties the opportunity to ask questions and provide and gain additional insight on this important topic.

The Sedona Conference is a non-partisan, non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) research and educational institute dedicated to the advanced study of law and policy in the areas of antitrust law, complex litigation and intellectual property rights. Its mission is to move the law forward in a reasoned and just way. It is a consistent thought leader and influential authority in its areas of legal focus.
