TCL Partners with Universal Recycling Technologies to Sponsor Free TV Take-Back Program

Universal Recycling Technologies (URT), an e-Stewards® certified electronic and universal waste recycler, announced today that it has partnered with TCL®, one of the world's best-selling and America's fastest-growing television brand, to expand the popular TV manufacturer's sustainability program into the State of New Hampshire. Working closely with MRM, TCL's long-time provider of end-to-end sustainability solutions, URT will take the lead in expanding TCL's growing TV recycling program into the state for the first time so residents have the ability to recycle TVs free of charge. TCL will be kicking off its sponsorship of the TV recycling program just before Earth Day on April 20th to offer New Hampshire families this convenient, no-cost solution.

As an added bonus, residents who do their part to help build a sustainable future by dropping off their TVs at the URT facility during the first week will receive a special discount code for 10% off a new 2018 or 2017 TCL Roku TV™ model on Amazon, redeemable between April 20 and April 27, 2018.*

"Earth Day presents an opportunity for each of us to improve our local communities by making small contributions that collectively make a big difference," said Jonathan King, TCL's Vice President of Corporate Affairs. "TCL has a solid record of environmental leadership, having doubled our recycling commitment every year since 2015. Working with URT to expand our coverage and add a free TV recycling solution in New Hampshire is a natural fit for TCL, and will enable residents to conveniently contribute to a sustainable future."

Recognized as a consistent environmental leader for its lofty recycling goals, TCL is working to build a program in all fifty states by the end of 2020 to give TCL TV owners easy access to recycling solutions. The company's sponsorship of the New Hampshire program throughout 2018 will kick-off at 6:00 AM on April 20th at URT's Dover, NH facility.

"We are excited to be working with TCL to support their sustainability goals and look forward to this newly formed partnership," said Jim Cornwell, URT's President

Adhering to the strictest available industry standards, URT's facilities are certified to the e-Stewards® Standard for Responsible Recycling and Reuse of Electronic Equipment. The e-Stewards Electronic Recycling Certification is the first fully accredited, independently audited certification program designed to ensure that e-waste will be responsibly and accountably recycled. URT is also ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified.

All television brands will be accepted at URT's New Hampshire Facility located at 61 Industrial Park Drive, Dover, NH. The drop-off hours are 6:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Families and residents dropping off a TV should visit the front desk for instructions and to receive their TCL promotional code between Friday, April 20 and Friday, April 27.
