Champlain College Online Forms truED Alliance Partnership with athenahealth

Champlain College Online, one of the nation's most innovative nonprofit colleges, today announced that athenahealth, a leading provider of network-enabled services for hospital and ambulatory clients nationwide, has joined Champlain's truED© Alliance Program. Based on this partnership, athenahealth's team of more than 4,000 U.S.-based staff members will have affordable access to over 60 degree and certificate programs offered by the regionally accredited online college, allowing them to advance their knowledge and skill sets, and ultimately fulfill the company's mission of delivering better healthcare for all.

"Champlain's partnership with athenahealth is a natural fit for both organizations," said Melissa Marcello, executive director of Champlain College Online. "As a healthcare technology company, athenahealth's workforce needs align well with Champlain College's portfolio of programs, which focus heavily on technology, healthcare, and business. We're excited to help athenahealth employeesdevelop their skills and grow in their careers."

Among the online degree and certificate programs offered by Champlain College Online are bachelor's degrees, master's degrees (including in business administration), and graduate certificates in healthcare administration and technology-focused fields like cybersecurity and information system management. The courses are taught by industry practitioners who keep classes small to maximize personal attention; emphasize critical thinking and problem solving over textbook learning; and work closely with students and both their academic and career advisors to ensure they successfully complete their studies in alignment with their career goals.

"What we love about Champlain College Online's truED program, as with all of our benefit programs, is that it meets our employees at the stage of life and career they are currently at," said Kate Crimmins, benefits project manager at athenahealth. "By offering programs that align with the needs and wants of both the business and our employees, we're investing in our athenistas in a meaningful way that fosters their talent, growth, and engagement. Through this partnership with Champlain College Online, we're looking forward to helping our employees grow while still benefiting from their contributions as full-time employees."

Through its truED Alliance Program, Champlain works closely with more than 70 public sector, nonprofit, and private sector organizations to address the cybersecurity skills gap and other workforce challenges they face today. Champlain students acquire new, career-focused skills and knowledge through accelerated online classes, highly relevant and applicable coursework, immersive labs and engaging discussions.
