AMCP Elects MedImpact's Debra Minich to Board of Directors


Debra J. Minich, RPh, was recently elected to the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy's (AMCP) Board of Directors. Minich serves as Vice President, Clinical Account Services at MedImpact, the nation's largest independent, trend-focused pharmacy benefit manager (PBM).

Minich's two-year appointment will begin when she is sworn in at the AMCP Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy Annual Meeting 2018 in Boston April 23-26.

The AMCP Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and furthers the Academy's mission of increasing patient access to affordable medicines, improving health outcomes and ensuring the wise use of healthcare dollars.

As a member of the Academy for over two decades, Minich has served as the Chair of the Organizational Affairs Committee and on the Academy's Membership, Schools of Pharmacy Relations and Finance committees. She is an AMCP Diplomat for several colleges of pharmacies and served as past president of the AMCP Midwest Affiliate.

With nearly 30 years of healthcare experience, spanning retail pharmacy, large health plans, specialty pharmacies and several PBMs, Minich has developed and implemented numerous innovative and evidence-based clinical programs to improve patient outcomes. She earned a bachelor of science in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and has received several clinical innovatio and pharmacy management awards.

JMCP Editorial Board Appoints MedImpact's Sara Carruth-Erickson


Sara Carruth-Erickson, PharmD, Manager, Health Economics and Outcomes at MedImpact, has been selected to join the Editorial Board of the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy (JMCP), the peer-reviewed Journal of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.

JMCP publishes peer-reviewed original research and articles to help promote quality managed care pharmacy research to help inform the industry on evidence-based decision making to optimize the value of pharmaceutical products and services delivered to managed care patients.

Carruth-Erickson has 10 years of pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research experience in the PBM industry. She also serves as the co-faculty advisor for the student AMCP chapter at the University of California, San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she holds a volunteer clinical faculty appointment.

"I look forward to serving on the JMCP editorial board to further contribute to the Journal's mission," Carruth-Erickson said.
