Priority Health announces new agreement with Cigna Payer Solutions

Priority Health announced today that it has entered into a new agreement with Cigna Payer Solutions, the business within Cigna that works with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), health plans and insurers. As Michigan's second largest health plan, the agreement with Cigna will enable Priority Health members who live, work or travel out-of-state to access Cigna's PPO network* of nearly one million health care providers nationwide** for services provided outside the state of Michigan.

"As Priority Health continues to grow, we're working with more employers who are also expanding their business here in Michigan and across the country. This is another example of our commitment to create solutions that deliver better health care value for our members," said Joan Budden, president and CEO for Priority Health. "Priority Health members already know that they get coverage from coast-to-coast in the state of Michigan thanks to our comprehensive network of in-state providers. Now, as a result of this agreement with Cigna Payer Solutions, we'r offering a better and more seamless experience for our members who live, work or travel out-of-state as well."

Through this agreement, Priority Health members with coverage through their employer who live, work or travel outside of Priority Health's area will have access to Cigna's quality health care network that features a variety of doctors, specialists, hospitals, labs and facilities for services provided outside the state of Michigan. Providers in Cigna's network go through a comprehensive credentialing process to help ensure members receive quality care.

The new agreement will take effect in the fall of 2018. More information will be shared during the coming months.
