Premier Team of Intellectual Property Lawyers for the Technology Sector Joins Goodwin in Washington, D.C.


Global law firm Goodwin announced today that a premier team of four intellectual property litigators for the technology sector is joining its award-winning Intellectual Property practice. Mark Davis (News - Alert), PJ McCarthy, Ronald Pabis and Stephen Shahida join Goodwin as partners in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Davis starts at Goodwin today. McCarthy, Pabis and Shahida will join over the next several weeks.

  • Mark Davis focuses on intellectual property rights litigation and associated anttrust issues, including Section 337 issues. He has extensive experience representing clients before the International Trade Commission, district, and appellate federal courts.
  • PJ McCarthy litigates matters across a broad range of complex technologies, including semiconductors, smartphone hardware and software, telecommunications, global positioning systems, networking, distributed computing, automated vehicle systems, and cable/satellite broadcasting and devices. He also advises startups on non-litigation, intellectual property matters.
  • Ronald Pabis represents technology companies in complex patent litigation and patent licensing disputes. He has been litigating patent cases for over a decade in the networking, semiconductor, semiconductor packaging, software, and medical device fields. Pabis leads trial teams throughout all stages of the litigation process from pre-suit disputes and negotiations to Markman and summary judgment hearings to trial.
  • Stephen Shahida focuses on complex patent disputes and litigation involving divergent technologies. He has handled cases involving graphics accelerator chips, analog and digital circuit design, disk drives, massive storage devices, integrated circuit designs, semiconductor processes, semiconductor packaging, high modulus low shrinkage fibers, internet and e-mail services, advanced medical devices, and various aspects of telephony.



The team also has particular expertise in representing clients before the International Trade Commission.
