"I believe we are going to have to do a better job as an industry in
recruiting," said John Henderson, vice president, operations, Wickizer
and Clutter. "Getting out to the campuses, we need to get our message
out there as to what insurance adjusters really do. If the industry is
able to overcome that hurdle, as well as continue to embrace technology,
then I believe we will be able to get past these challenges."
T. Mark Nixon, principal, CMI Nixon and Company, said promoting the
industry as an exciting, life-long profession remains a challenge.
"It has become more and more challenging to interest young people in
this industry," said Nixon. "There are a lot of people that are simply
not interested in insurance claims. Therefore, we need to show them that
it is a good profession and something that is a life-long skill set."
