Citi Private Bank's Law Firm Group Adds Industry Veteran to Senior Leadership Team


Citi Private Bank's Law Firm Group announced today the appointment of Jeff Grossman as Head of Business Development for the Law Firm Group effective July 16th, 2018. Mr. Grossman will be based in New York City and report to Naz Vahid, Law Firm Group Head, Citi Private Bank. "Jeff, like me, has been operating in this space for many years. He is well respected and a sought after expert on trends in the law firm industry. We are very happy to welcome him back and are confident that his expertise will further complement the industry-leading brand we have established with our clients," said Ms. Vahid. He rejoins the firm after 14 years.

Mr. Grossman joins from Wells Fargo (News - Alert) where he was one of the cofounders of its Legal Specialty Group. He was the Senior Director of Banking for the Legal Specialty Group where he led the banking, credit, deposits and treasury management for the business. His remit at Wells Fargo also included managing the advisory services which produced regular law firm surveys from 180+ firms as well as merger & acquisition analysis. In addition to his responsibilities as co-head of the Legal Specialty Group, in 2005 Mr. Grossman founded the Specialty Finance Group; a credit specialty business responsible for all underwriting of complex credit, including life insurance premium finance, ESOP monetization, art, complex securities (restricted stock, private stock and other limited liquidity securities), sports, private equity and hedge fund lending.

Prior to Wells Fargo, Mr. Grossman was at Citi Private Bank where he held various roles within the Law Firm Group. He was previously the Regional Leader for the Southeast, based in Miami, where he worked closely with the Ultra High Net Worth and Latin American groups to leverage the firm's global capabilities to senior law firm leaders throughout the Southeast. Mr. Grossman also led the frst syndication deal for Citi's Law Firm Group.



Previously he worked in structured finance at IBJ Schroder Bank & Trust Company and in corporate banking at Barclays. He holds a B.S. and B.A, in English and Economics from the University of Massachusetts.
